People are reeling with shock after watching a recently released horror sequel which caused some cinema goers to throw up or pass out.

I've never watched a horror film in the cinema and I never plan to. If I do ever dare to branch out from the safety of a good, old rom-com and dip my toe into the dark side of cinema, I'll do it firmly from the comfort of my sofa, my back against the wall (so nothing can creep up on me), with the lights on, volume down as low as possible and my fingers planted firmly in front of my eyes.

However, some cinema goers failed to take my warning and lived to regret it, when a recently released horror caused audience members to 'faint' and 'throw up' because of just how disturbing it is.

Be prepared to watch through your fingers:

Terrifier 2 - written and directed by Damien Leone - was first released on 29 August, 2022 at FrightFest before it became available in the US from 6 October.

It's the sequel to the 2016 release Terrifier and sees the return of Victoria Heyes (Samantha Scaffidi) and Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton).

The film's official synopsis reads: "After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to the timid town of Miles County where he targets a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night."

However, just because the film has a tomatometer score of 90 percent and audience score of 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, doesn't mean it hasn't caused quite the stir.

People have flooded to social media in absolute shock over just how horrifying Terrifier 2 is and to reveal the film's severe impact on some members of the audience.

One user said: "Movie-goers are reportedly throwing up at the theater due to some of the sequences in Terrifier 2. This is seriously one of the best years for horror films ever."

"#Terrifier2 my friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance. Highly recommended," another wrote.
